Wire mesh is increasingly being adopted more and more by the architectural community and building industry.
Aughey Screens basis for the innovative strength and quality of these products comes from our decades of experience in manufacturing technical woven wire for separation and filtration.Woven wire is ideal for architectural projects because of its optical and functional properties. May of which include their reflectiveness, transparency and opaqueness, flexibility and robustness, permeability to light and air, practically unlimited service life, ease of cleaning, recyclability and functional protection against the sun, drafts and impacts. Wire mesh facades offer an ideal solution for both internal and external requirements. The various combinations of wire diameters, aperture sizes and mesh patterns result in each application having its own unique appearance. When these products are combined with suitable lighting the results are very impressive. There are a number of different fitting options available depending on the mesh type and the application.
The distinction is based on how the screens are constructed and manufactured.
Welded wedge wire screens consist of sequentially arranged wedge wires which are rigidly connected to the cross support bars by means of resistant welding. This results in consistent screen openings or slots in-between the profiles. These slots can be adapted in their width according to application.
Material | SS304 / SS316L |
Finish | Plain / Satin / Grit 120, 220, 320, 400 |
Profile Width | 2.3mm / 3.3mm / 4.97mm |
Slot Width | Customer Choice |
Support Height(2&3mm Thick) | 5 / 10 / 13 / 15 / 20 / 25mm |
Support Pitch | 20 / 50 / 75 / 100 / 200mm |
Options | Frames / Channels / Lockdowns |
Looped wedge wire screens are pressed from round wire to the required profile building distance loops in the lower profile area. This enables the embedding of round cross bars through which the profiles are positioned and connected. This process of wedge wire screen construction achieves a maximum slot accuracy, as no heat development occurs during manufacture.
The Aughey name has been synonymous with the mining, quarrying, and aggregate industry since 1958, when Danny Aughey established a sand and gravel pit “Aughey Bros” in Monaghan, Ireland. From then the Aughey name has built a reputation as one of the world’s leading manufacturer, supplier and advisors of screening media for a diverse range of applications from stationary and portable screening plants, to filtration, and Architectural Facades. The company’s continued success is based on three founding principals.
Using only the Highest Carbon content and the best raw material guarantees the longest possible durability even in today’s most demanding environments.
Providing Screening Media for the leading International Quarrying, Mining, Recycling and Filtration companies
Wire mesh is made of spring steel wire (high carbon steel wire, medium carbon steel wire, manganese steel wire) and stainless steel wire. The high quality raw materials used give woven mesh several key features which make it suitable for intense media screening. These include; high tensile strength, high wear resistance, temperature and weather resistance and the flexibility to avoid cracking or breaking during extreme use. Due to it containing these key features and properties, woven mesh is widely used in vibrating screening machines for grading and sizing all kinds of sand, gravel, coal, stone, rock and many other materials in the mining, quarry and aggregate production industries. Specification Material: High tensile spring steel and stainless steel. Wire diameter: 2mm – 11.8mm. Opening size: 1mm - 100mm. Weaving type: Double crimped, intermediate crimped, flat top crimped, lock crimped. Mesh type: Square and rectangular slot. Edge preparation: Flat raw edge or hooked Hook type: Hooked strip (A, B, C or C1), Formed hook, Welded inner plate, Welded hook Features
Aughey Screens supply polyurethane modular systems to suit most conventional vibrating system regardless of age. These modules are moulded around a welded steel frame with an overall module thickness of 30mm. The thickness of the screening area is determined by the hole size, which range from 0.3mm – 120mm. Hole shapes are usually square, circular or rectangular (square being the most common). They also come in different variants High Efficiency, Standard, High Wear.
The production of pressure welded screens is based on electric resistance welding method through welding of simple and specially profiled wire. They are vibration resistant with big clearance and extended life. They are used in sifters with circular and straight vibration trajectory. With pressure-welded screens for both side tensioning as well as for end tensioning machines thetop wires are usually parallel to material flow. With the end tensioning screens the lower wires are therefore parallel to the supports and may present difficulties during fitting. It is recommended to order such screens with free areas (1) or with under welded flat bars (2) in the support positions. Apertures available from 7.0 mm (square or rectangular mesh) with wire diameters ranging from 4.0mm. Available materials include manganese steel (patent), medium carbon steel and chromium-nickel steel.
Replacement trommel and plate mesh screens meet the same exacting quality as our other products, and offer a wide range to suit most machines such as Powerscreen, Extec, Screen Machine, McCloskey, Fintec, Wildcat, Doppstadt and many more. Hooked, framed or edge styles are available with multiple wire diameters or plate thickness on different aperture styles. Our engineers can design possible punch plate alternatives to fit your existing trommel machines.
